Code Enforcement

The City of Overland has on staff three full time Code Enforcement officers, who report to the Chief Building Inspector. The responsibilities of the officers include, but are not limited to:

  • Inspects all single family and multi-family units
  • Enforces housing and existing structure codes and ordinances
  • Enforces housing, zoning codes and ordinances
  • Issues occupancy permits, posts inspection records
  • Answers inquiries on housing
  • Performs all permit generated inspections, such as plumbing, driveways, fence, footing, foundation and framing
  • Inspects signs to insure that they comply with the sign ordinances
  • Conducts inspection on all code violations

The need for Code Enforcement is to promote safety issues and to maintain our property values in keeping with the City’s motto:

" A Great Place to Live"
